Using AI is something I avoid, but when I was in need of a summer camp program that I could not find locally I decided to use AI. Over the last year I have been trying to spend 15 minutes a day educating myself on the AI platforms, what they do and what they are best used for. The options seemed endless but as I further researched I realized that different needs warranted different platforms.
For the camp creation, I used a combination of Google Gemini, Grok and Perplexity. Each gave me different results but complimented each other allowing me to pick and choose what I wanted to use from each one. I found this process to help me save countless hours of time.
When requesting things using AI you have to think a little different than when you Google Search. For example I wrote a prompt for the program to think like an art teacher and create a summer art drawing program giving videos and printouts. After it gives you results it will ask you follow up questions that may further assist you, so it is good to review the results and then see if you have further questions to ask.
I think if AI is used for cases like this it can become a very useful tool instead of something used for bad. I am curious as to what other good causes I will find to use AI.
*JAJ TIP* When doing your research be sure to look at all of the platforms and use whatever will be the most helpful, they all have specialties and fitting those will set you up for success.
*PLANNING TIP* If you are not good at writing prompts I suggest looking up ideas, you may come up with some wonderful ideas you can note for later use.
*TECH TIP* Copy and pasting the information you get into a word document is a good way to edit and organize the information you get from AI. Then you can Add/Combine or delete text as you look through all of the ideas you came up with.
